Tokyo Innovation Base, an innovation hub operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is hosting “TIB KIDS,” a special program for children!
We’ve created a space where children can enjoy experiencing and putting innovation into practice, while discovering that taking on challenges can lead to the creation of new value.

Program①:Zen-chan’s Fun and Educational Science Show

From powerful wind experiments to a giant air cannon, this entertaining science show is packed with excitement for both children and adults. Enjoy Zen-chan’s humorous talk and engaging performances, be amazed by authentic scientific experiments, and experience the wonders of science in a fun and memorable way!

Zen-chan is active in a wide range of media, including supervising segments such as “Super Smelly Air Cannon” on TBS television programs and appearing on Nippon TV’s “Getsuyo Kara Yofukashi.” His popular science shows are performed at events and schools throughout Japan.

Program②:The Future Store of 2036 — Bringing Your “What If?” Ideas to Life(Advance registration required)

Through conversations with AI, participants will imagine their own future, create images based on their ideas, and then transform them into 3D computer-generated models. Watch your ideas take shape right before your eyes and experience the first step toward creating the future together.

Program③:Defy Gravity!? Create a “Toy of the Future”

In this hands-on workshop, participants will build their own gravity-defying toy. Using simple woodworking techniques, they will assemble a device that creates a magical floating-string effect through the power of inertia. An experiment corner where children can learn through play will also be available.

Program⑤:Make a Paper Rocket and Launch It! (Advance registration required)

In this hands-on rocket workshop, children will create and launch their own paper rockets using paper and scissors. As they enjoy the activity, they will also learn about space and how rockets work in a fun and engaging way. It’s a great opportunity to spark curiosity and imagination.

Program⑥:”Arigatou Workshop” Let’s Make Wonderful Gifts with Creativity and Ingenuity! (Advance registration required)

Share a one-of-a-kind “thank you” with someone special! This hands-on entrepreneurship program begins with interviewing a person you care about. Participants think about the other person’s feelings and create a unique gift just for them. Through the activity, they can develop important non-cognitive skills such as empathy, initiative, creativity, and communication, while also building the kind of 21st-century skills needed for the future. At the end, they present their gift together with a thank-you card and learn about how money works, taking their first step toward creating value that brings joy to others.

Program⑦:An Innovative New Block Toy Combining Cardboard and Magnets 『といろBOX』

Program⑧:Let’s Go on a Space Adventure! *Materials fee ¥500

This program allows children to experience 360-degree space videos played on a smartphone using paper VR goggles they make themselves.Through immersive videos, such as a future lunar base and a moon landing experience featuring authentic sounds from the time, participants can freely move their viewpoint within the video and enjoy outer space in three dimensions. After the experience, they can take the goggles home and enjoy using them again with their families.
